Jacobus homes for sale include small starter homes and larger single family homes as well. Originally called New Paradise, the town of Jacobus was founded in 1837. The name had to be changed because of misdelivered mail between New Paradise and the town of Paradise in Lancaster County. The postmaster, Jacob Geiselman was ordered to change the name of the Post Office, but couldn’t think of another name, so the mail was delivered to Jacob-US Mail, which was later shortened to Jacob-US. The post office was renamed Jacobus and the town was renamed as well. Jacobus became an incorporated borough in 1929. Students are served by the Dallastown Area School District.
