Eastern York School District

Eastern York School DistrictEastern is a rural community which is home to the Golden Knights. There are six municipalities within the district: East Prospect Borough, Hallam Borough, Hellam Township, Lower Windsor Township, Yorkana Borough, and Wrightsville Borough. According to the 2010 census there were 19,565 people living in the district of which approximately 2800 students in the district attend the five schools. Three elementary schools service students in Kindergarten to 5th grade, and Eastern Middle School is 6th -8th grade followed by Eastern High School. In both 2011 and 2012 the district did achieve AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) status. The district offers a number of sports, clubs, and programs of the arts for students to get involved in.  In addition the district participates in the Dual Enrollment program. This is a state program to earn college credits at a reduced rate while at the same time meeting graduation requirements. Many of the schools have beautiful open spaces which overlook the Susquehanna River. The Susquehanna River separates York County and Lancaster County. For further information visit the district webpage.
